Nathan and I rang in the due date with strong contractions that lasted from 3 p.m. yesterday until 1 a.m. this morning and has since left the building.
I am starting to think that this baby maybe does take on my personality a little bit with organization and time management skills . . . it's possible that she and my body have carefully devised a plan to slowly dilate and thin so that my labor is about two minutes long. At least this what I tell myself when I am tired and ready.
I have a "due date drink date" with Jamie and Linnea this afternoon at a coffee shop in Evanston which should be a nice distraction. I'm looking forward to Nathan returning home this evening with his conferences being a thing of the past. He has been working incredibly hard to juggle conferences, preparing for a parental leave and dealing with my body's demands for fruit loops and contraction timings.
So I'm sorry that there is nothing really new to report . . . no honestly I am sorry about that one : ) But I am healthy, the baby is healthy and the doctor's appointment is tomorrow morning so all is well.

Seriously, you could write a post that simply said, "still here," and I'd be happy for the update. Thanks for divulging our nail-biting needs! :D You are now entering time warp zone...the time you never counted on having, but will hopefully be grateful for after that baby comes! i ran into jeanine at the Y yesterday. as you probably already know, she is, of course, as anxious as you are for the baby! she is so sweet.
