As many of you know . . . after you carry a baby for 10 months your body gets a little stubborn about going back to it's pre-pregnancy size. I'm trying to be patient with these changes and know that breastfeeding often times contributes to the struggle for your body to give up all the baby weight (or at least that's what I keep telling myself while I eat oreos).
Now please don't get my wrong, I'm not in hate with my body. I'm actually quite proud of my body . . . it's done some amazing things this year. But I think I've come to the sad realization that the juniors section just isn't for me anymore. I'm just scared that there is nothing inbetween juniors and mom jeans . . .
Our cousin Amy told us about a great website called www.myshape.com You just plug in your measurements and it gives you ideas of what clothes fit best on you.
Just thought I would share this resource for all of the other beautiful mamas out there, sportin' their post-baby bods.

I feel your pain. I don't think shorts fit me anymore. Might be skirts for me all summer.
barbara - thanks for this post. a co-worker and i had a loooong talk today about how difficult it can be for women to accept their natural shapes or post-baby weights or shifting metabolisms given others' natural tendencies toward lean figures. sometimes accepting what God and nature have intended for each individual isn't as easy as we'd like. it's good to know that i'm not the only one who sometimes has days like these!
Thanks for the tip, it comes at just the right time. I am finding that my maternity clothes are now getting too big but my "regular" clothes are not ready for my body just yet. I spent over an hour today trying on various pieces from my closet so I would know what I had to work with! It has only been two weeks so I know I need to be a little more patient but it is such a dilema when trying to get dressed in the morning!
Very cool site you mentioned.
The whole body war post partum and while nursing is SO SO SO hard. Really and truly. It's amazing and wonderful that our bodies can do such miraculous things, yet we get so frustrated when they don't do exactly what we want them to do.
With that said, it took a LONG time for me to feel back to normal and even now that I'm at my regular size, many of my old clothes fit differently on different parts of my body.
But coming to acceptance has been the best thing I could have ever done. Knowing that I am proud of what my body did and does.
Just tryin' to enjoy the boobs while I've still got 'em. Then it will be all about trying to hold everything up. Sigh. Very sharp observation about finding something between low rise and mom jeans though, and cool website to boot! That kept Becca and I busy on Friday afternoon...
i seriously cannot get over how much my boobs have changed! what the heck?!?! i could only breastfeed for a couple months and they still have completely changed. i'll have to live with two floppy girls until the next pregnancy :)
Haha! I love these comments! It is SO true! The one thing I like to tell myself is that I may not look like I did before pregnancy but that's because I have grown real live human beings inside my STOMACHE. What I have to do is stop reading celebrity mags with moms with 6 packs and be happy with myself for my girls' sake. Also, for the record, you look great and you're barely post pardem. It took me a whole year to get back to shape with Delaney. Love ya!!
