Birch trees, baby, deep breath

Nathan, Sanne and I hit the road on June 16th for the Northwoods of Wisconsin to one of our two family cabins (I know, it's out of control).

We had an amazing time.

We went on walks, picked flowers, ate amazing meals, took "dips", sun bathed, had much missed adult conversations together, ate way too many s'mores, caught up on the Sopranos, went strawberry picking, played bingo at the senior center and did many projects around the cabin.

Sanne has grown during our time too. I have an unscientific theory that developmental milestones increase when kids are out of their normal environment. And when I say milestones I mean that Nathan taught Sanne how to do raspberries :) She made farting noises for half of the time we were at Bingo.

It was a fantastic week and a half . . . a much needed rest and quality time as a family. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Enjoy the photos!

i always feel that way about being on vacation. gwen always seems to grow up so much while we are gone. maybe its because when you come back to your normal environment, they are different and the changes didnt happen there so it seems more drastic. anyway...you're not alone in your "theory." glad you are back and cant wait to see you soon! love to see that sweet smiling baby of yours!

My favorites: (except for ALL of them??) The spooning rabbit and Sanne with the big smile hugging the bunny. Priceless!

It was fun to talk with you on the phone last night!

Due to my recent blog obsession, I came across your blog through Neeraj and Erin's (we actually sat with you at their wedding reception). I love your blog--your daughter literally could not be any cuter(by the way where do you shop for her?) and I enjoyed reading your thoughts. I'm glad things worked out for you to work at the daycare. It sounds perfect. I go back in the fall and am getting worried about it. :)
