After school on Friday Nathan, Sanne and I hit the road up to my family's cabin in Conover, Wisconsin (6.5 hours north of Chicago). We spent the weekend up there with my sister Christine, her husband Mark and their 10 week old daughter Klara.
Nathan's family has a cabin 40 minutes away in Iron River, Michigan so Nathan's parents came over for dinner on Sunday night to visit. We were also able to see our friends Monica, Josh and Emilia who live in Minnesota and also have a cabin on Stormy Lake!
There is nothing better than s'mores, fires, birch trees, the calm lake and showing our baby girl one of the two very special cabins and woods that she'll be able to explore so soon!
After a great weekend away, I always feel so blessed when it still feels good to be home.

Reasons why Sanne is the luckiest little girl ever: I have never seen a picture of Barbara and Sanne where she is not giving her kisses or touching her in some tender way, or one of Nathan where he is not utterly delighted with his daughter. The best gift you can give your child is for her to know that she is loved...and she WILL know that!
I am so jealous of your time in the gorgeous, great north! We LOVED being with you in Chicago and can't wait to share time together at Golden Lake in July! It looks like Sanne may be cut out for the cabin life. :D Love you. Auntie B
