Our baby is the size of a peach. Now I know for my friends out there who are due in the next few weeks (Heidi, Erin) this is not impressive and certainly not impressive to my wonderful sister-in-law, Charis, who was due yesterday and is awaiting the baby . . . but to me right now, a peach is huge!
Every day I'm just floored that there is a living, kicking, breathing, heart beating person inside of me. And I thank God for this honor to carry this baby (hemorroids, back pain, chest acne, morning sickness and all).
Someone asked us what we call the fetus . . . 1st trimester it was "the culprit", now it's "the bun" and when it's big and round it will be "pumpan" (Swedish for pumpkin, although I'm probably spelling it wrong).
I am starting to show. In the "is she fat or pregnant?" kind of way. I am down to two pairs of work pants, one pair of capris and living in the skirts when I can. I'm still amazed at how the body changes and how it just knows what to do in order to carry another person for a while.
It's hotter than a biscuit in Chicago and I'm dreaming of crunchy colored leaves, pumpkins, feeling little baby kicks and sweaters. I love the seasons we have here, as one is nearing the end, I'm always excited for the next.
Speaking of changes, we just found out that our apartment is being converted into a single family home and while we signed a 9/06-9/07 lease, we need to move out by November. We are in the process of looking to buy a condo and are serious about one we've seen. Keep the prayers coming that it's a smooth transition for us.
N, B & the Bun.
