Times they are a changin'

If you had spoken with Nathan and I last Thursday we would have told you that Nathan was signing a contract at Sacred Heart for a 5th grade position and I was signing a contract for a Career Counselor position at JVS.

Apparently, this isn't what was "supposed" to happen. On Friday, as both of us were planning on signing our contracts in the afternoon. . .the morning had something else in store.

Nathan received a contract from Baker for a 4th or 5th grade position and was offered a significant salary increase (one we would never have anticipated). Meanwhile, I received an email regarding the EAP Counselor position at Archeus, offering me a significant amount more than I was orginially offered.

Both Nathan and I have thought about Baker/Archeus but didn't feel like it would be a feasible option for us. By Monday afternoon, Nathan and I were both signing contracts, Nathan at Baker and myself at Archeus. I will be starting my new job on June 12th and Nathan will be starting his new job in the fall.

We both feel numb about the gifts given to us. While we both know that we have worked hard for this, we are floored by the opportunity being placed in our laps at the exact time it needed to happen.
