Hot off the Press

Last night Sanne slept from 9:30 to 6:15 and I found her lying contently in her moses basket. This is the most sleep we've had since January . . . love it! We are working on getting Sanne on the "7 to 7" schedule. So far, so good. She sleeps from 7:30 to 2:30 and then I feed her and then she goes to bed again until 7:30. If you're a parent you are well aware that your baby's sleep pattern becomes a definite interest to you. We feel so fortunate to have this pattern for now and we are fully aware that this could be a temporary thing. But I'll tell you that after one good night of sleep I feel great!

I wanted to ask for a prayer request too. I am starting to think more seriously about what I will do this fall for work. I feel a lot of anxiety about it because it also means finding child care. Ideally I'd love to be home with Sanne but I don't know if that will be financially realistic for us. We just ask for your prayers that our path is clear and we feel peace with our decisions.

Off to bed : )

That's awesome!! Aidan is pretty much on that same schedule right now and has been for a while (asleep at 7:30 - feed at 2:30 asleep until 8!) Occassionally he will go a full night and occassionally he will wake up several times. :-) We will definitely keep you in our prayers, I know exacctly what you are going through. I'd love to share what we did to make it happen - if it would help. Let me know! Keep up the awesome work with your awesome little one!

Yippee!! Sleep is so good. As far as the work thing, I too have been there and would love to share what we did to make it happen as well.
Real quick, I sent a package from Gymboree but maybe didn't put my name on it?? Did you get it?

I would absolutely love to hear how you both handled the going back to work situation. Please share on a common if you feel comfortable because I'm sure others who read our blog would love to know too. If not, send me a personal email : ) Always great to see how others make it work!

AJ- So glad it's from you . . . love it! I was freaking out b/c I didn't know who sent it and was afraid we'd never find out who was so thoughtful! Thank you!

Are you doing Baby Wise? That schedule sounds great. Isella's a month behind Sanne, but we hope we can have that same sleep schedule some day.

We will pray for you, too, about staying home. Wendy and I realized that are desires for stuff needed to be curbed and we are finding ways to cut down on expenses so that Wendy won't have to go back to work (FT). We changed cell and cable plans, lowered the amount of money we spend on "gifts" at birthdays and holidays, and trying hard not to by clothes and stuff we don't need (It's tough). Just scaling back has helped us see that we can do it. We even asked our landlord to lower rent and they did by $50! (almost covers our diaper service!)Wendy is looking into tutoring once a week and subbing after summer. We'll see how God provides.

ps..what's your email so we can put you on the blog permission.

Yeah, Sanne! I am loving the sleep schedule! However, since returning from California, things haven't been exactly "normal" in that department. In fact, I think Drew is cutting a tooth, so occasionally he will wake up screaming in the middle of the night. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you get thrown through a loop. As far as going back to work goes, I've been through that, too. I'm not going to lie--it's hard! The worst part are the days leading up to your first day back. I was miserable and cried all the time. But, as soon as I got to work and was busy all day, I was fine. In fact, I really enjoy my job. Childcare is an answered prayer! That's my advice--start praying! We'll be thinking about you guys! -Rachel
