I have read a lot about women wanting to nest before the baby comes. Seems like an old wive's tale but I have to say, I think I have more craft projects than ever, maybe more than Martha! This picture is of the mobile that Nathan and I put together this weekend. We wanted something simple and homemade for the baby and we are happy with the results. Thanks to Nathan for putting up with the many projects and ideas that seem to flow like crazy these days!
Went to the doctor this morning . . . healthy little girl in there . . . healthy mama too. I have gained 6 lbs. in 5 weeks so that's a good thing! (Although when we did talk about my glucose screening I had to confess that I had Fruit Loops for breakfast and scheduled my screening for Friday instead :)
Hearing that little whooshing heart is such a gift too. I can feel her moving, kicking, punching very frequently these days. And Nathan can feel and see her movements too. My back is getting really sore from carrying the extra basketball sized uterus but it's nothing that some rubs, baths and yoga can't cure.
Nathan and I looked back at some old blog entries the other day from early May when we had done our final round of treatment that this little one came from. I am continually in awe of the gift, the miracle and the responsiblity that God has given us to grow and raise this girl. The pain of infertility, loss and treatment are still a part of who we are and we have so much pride in our strength and dedication to bring this little one into the world.
I am unapologetically obsessed with my pregnancy . . . with each kick, each sound of her heartbeat, each vision of what she might look like, what her cry might sound like . . . a reward and incredible gift.
I feel untouchable right now . . . nothing in the world could be more meaningful to me right now than loving on my husband and growing our child . . . a wonderful place to be.
