Luck be a Lady

Shortly after our ultrasound appointment a couple of weeks ago, Nathan and I sat in our Honda Civic . . . opened an envelope (eyes filled with tears) revealing to us that a little kicking, feisty, beautiful little girl will be entering our family in February.

The weight and clarity of knowing that a little girl is inside of me is sometimes beyond our understanding. We feel like it is such a gift to have this secret known to us and to connect with the baby in a whole new way.

After a few years of public infertility, it has been a gift to us to have this little secret. But now we excitedly share the joy with each of you.

We have new roles, a more defined purpose and humbly anticipate how she will effect our lives, who she will grow up to be, what she will struggle with, what she will be gifted with.

Some secrets remain . . . we will not be sharing the name of our little girl until she arrives but are always open to your suggestions. Some winners thus far: Barbara Jr., Cupid, Laqeesha . . .

Our hearts are filled with love for this girl already and she will be blessed with a wonderful community of people to surround her and watch her grow.
